Locked-up for 95 years

Some info on the dreaded EU 95 year extension for sound recordings. They are now proposing an impact assessment to extend this to all AV.
"The Commission should launch an impact assessment procedure in relation to the situation of the European audiovisual sector in order to consider the need for an extension of the term of protection of copyright to producers and broadcasters in the audiovisual sector; that procedure should be completed by 1 January 2010 so that a proposal for a new directive may be presented before June 2010."
